Not every mover belongs near a piano, and ours are the crew you want when an upright or a baby grand has to clear a landing or ride down a staircase. We show up with the boards, straps, and skid gear built for the job, and every specialty move is handled by people who do this week in and week out.

We’ve walked pianos out of downtown Sherman Ave bungalows and lakefront builds in Sandpoint alike, and we fold the instrument into a larger home move whenever the rest of the house is going too.

01 Overview

Pianos, safes, and specialty

Some loads need skill over raw muscle. At Stateside Movers, lead chief Wyatt Kessler guides uprights, baby grands, gun safes, and framed art through the tight doorways and stair turns of North Idaho homes, laying skids, straps, and padding before a single piece budges.

What we move for you

  • Grand and upright pianos, stairs included
  • Safes and workout equipment rolled on dollies rated to the load
  • Custom-fit crates for artwork, marble, and antique pieces
  • Curio cabinets and grandfather clocks braced against any shift

Keeping your piano safe

Stage What we do
Prep Skid padded beneath, straps cinched, blankets stacked over it
Carry A four-mover team steering each turn and stair
Transit Set on end, lashed, and braced firmly in the truck

Being licensed and insured is more than a phrase for us — genuine coverage rides along with each costly item the crew touches.

What is included

  • Uprights and grand pianos, every staircase included
  • Safes and exercise machines wheeled on load-rated dollies
  • Made-to-fit crates for antiques, artwork, and marble
  • A padded skid, blankets stacked on, and straps pulled tight
  • A four-person team steadying each corner and step
  • Stood on end, strapped, and wedged firm within the truck
  • Real insurance coverage behind every high-value item

How we quote it

One flat rate, in writing, after a quick walkthrough or video estimate — built from your real inventory, never an hourly meter. The price on the sheet is the price you pay, with no hidden fees.

Local know-how

Why Coeur d’Alene Households Trust Us

Heavy mountain snow, iced-over driveways, and a service area that runs from lakefront estates in Hayden Lake to the timber cabins out past Athol and downtown Sherman Ave — we’ve handled every version of it, so move day holds together no matter the weather.

We plan around the snow

When a winter storm or a hard freeze rolls in, we time the load around the plows on I-90 and keep you posted from first box to last.

Slush and mud stay outside

Floor runners and boot covers go down first, so melting snow and gravel-road mud never track across your new floors.

Cabins and lakefront estates

Timber cabins up a gravel road and gated lakefront estates that need a COI for the HOA are routine work for our crew.

Sherman Ave bungalows to highlands builds

A downtown Sherman Ave bungalow or a new build up in the highlands — we send the right truck and crew for the address.

Cold and long carries won’t stop us

Sub-freezing mornings and long carries up an icy drive are routine — we pace the load and keep everything padded and shrink-wrapped tight.

Storage in between

Closing dates not lining up? Your load waits safe in our secured Coeur d’Alene warehouse until the new place is ready.

02 How we protect your move

Your things, handled like our own

Every job rolls with the gear to keep furniture, floors, and fragile pieces safe — before a single box goes on the truck.

Quilted moving blankets

Every dresser, table, and headboard is padded and shrink-wrapped before it moves an inch.

Shrink-wrap & stretch film

Drawers stay shut, cushions stay clean, and upholstery stays sealed against dust and weather.

Floor & doorway protection

Floor runners, rail wraps, and door-jamb pads go down first so your home takes no hits.

Custom crating

Mirrors, glass tops, artwork, and TVs get purpose-built boxes and corner protection.

Disassembly & reassembly

Beds, tables, and large pieces come apart, ride safe, and go back together at the new place.

Straps, dollies & lifts

Proper tie-downs and equipment for stairs, basements, and heavy pieces — no shortcuts.

Questions about this service

Will you carry a grand piano down stairs?
All the time. The grand goes up onto a cushioned skid, we tighten the straps, and it rolls out on heavy-duty dollies through the snug corners of a North Idaho house.
Can you handle a very heavy gun safe?
We do. A safe weighing several hundred pounds is nothing unusual; we show up with rated boards and enough hands to walk it out to the truck.
Does my piano have coverage in transit?
It does. Being a licensed, insured mover, we hold genuine coverage on the shipment, and each valuable stays wrapped from the moment it is lifted until it reaches its resting place.
Can I hire you for only the piano?
Certainly. A good number of these are just one specialty piece, priced separately with the two-hour minimum in effect.
